The idea for establishing the Nepal Chamber of Tax Consultants (NCTC) originated while I, Roshan Kumar Pokharel, along with my wife, Irina Pokharel, were participating in a tax consultant education program in Russia. On the day we received our tax consultant certificates, we pledged to establish the NCTC in Nepal, recognizing the need for such an organization in our country.

The NCTC was officially incorporated, marking a pivotal step in its journey to reform the taxation system in Nepal. The inception was registered at the Office of Company Registrar.
August 30, 2018
Strengthening its commitment to societal welfare and regulation, the NCTC became affiliated with the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. This affiliation solidified its position as a key player in Nepal's taxation ecosystem.
October 16, 2019
In a strategic move to expand its horizons and bring global best practices to Nepal, NCTC affiliated itself with the Asia-Oceania Tax Consultants' Association (AOTCA). This connection placed NCTC under the broader umbrella of the Global Tax Advisers' Platform (GTAP), enabling access to a wealth of global knowledge and networks. Throughout its journey, the NCTC has consistently worked towards upholding its mission, vision, and values. By bridging the gap between the government and taxpayers, creating platforms for learning and networking, and promoting international standards, the NCTC is poised to redefine Nepal's tax consultancy landscape. Under the visionary leadership of its founding president, Mr. Roshan Kumar Pokharel, the chamber seeks to bring about a transformative change in the way Nepal perceives and engages with taxation.

Nepal has been chosen as the prestigious host for the 2025 AOTCA International Tax Conference and the 22nd General Meeting of the Asia-Oceania Tax Consultants' Association (AOTCA). This decision was made at the 20th General Meeting of AOTCA in Tokyo. As the host organization, the Nepal Chamber of Tax Consultants (NCTC) is honored to welcome tax professionals and experts from across Asia and Oceania to our beautiful country. This event marks a significant milestone for NCTC and Nepal, showcasing our commitment to advancing the field of taxation on an international stage.
11-13 September 2018
NCTC participated in the AOTCA 2018 International Tax Conference in Mongolia. The delegation included Mr. Roshan Kumar Pokharel.
16-18 October 2019
NCTC joined the AOTCA 2019 International Tax Conference in Korea. The delegation included Mr. Roshan Kumar Pokharel and Mr. Raju Kumar Shiwakoti.
22-25 November 2022
NCTC actively participated in the AOTCA 2022 International Tax Conference held in Bali, Indonesia. The delegation included Mr. Roshan Kumar Pokharel and Mr. Prabin Raj Kafle. Mr. Prabin Kafle presented on Nepal's taxation landscape during the conference. Mrs. Irina Pokharel accompanied us.

NCTC actively and massively participated in the AOTCA 2023 International Tax Conference held in Tokyo, Japan. The delegation included Mr. Roshan Kumar Pokharel, Mr. Prabin Raj Kafle, Mr. Ananda Raj Sharma Wagle, Mr. Janak Thapa and Mr. Bikram Shrestha. Mr. Prabin Kafle presented on Nepal's taxation landscape during the conference. Mrs. Irina Pokharel as always accompanied us.
